The FASD Ireland National Conference 2026 will take place at Hotel Woodstock, Ennis, on 14th and 15th May 2026, with 500 delegates expected across the two days.

This landmark event builds on the success of our 2025 conference - the first national FASD conference held in Ireland in seven years welcoming over 200 attendees including clinicians, educators, policymakers and families. Last year’s sponsors included Clare FM, Shannon Airport and Hotel Woodstock, and the feedback from delegates and partners was overwhelmingly positive.

This year’s theme, FASD and Justice, will explore the profound ways Ireland’s justice, education and social care systems impact the lives of people living with Foetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD). It will bring together national and international experts, frontline professionals, and those with lived experience to drive solutions, reduce stigma and promote fairer outcomes.

FASD is Ireland’s most prevalent and only preventable neurodevelopmental disability. It causes lifelong brain injury with significant cognitive, behavioural and physical impacts. According to the HSE (2022), up to 7.4% of the Irish population may be living with FASD, and 1 in 10 babies is currently born with a form of the condition.

Despite its prevalence, FASD remains poorly recognised. In many European countries, awareness is funded by the alcohol industry. In Ireland, as an HSE funded organisation, we cannot accept alcohol‑industry funding — which means we rely on partners whose values align with wellbeing, prevention and informed choice.
